Summary of Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Conservation Program Manager the Grants Officer is responsible for grant management and conducting project monitoring and evaluation. The work involves direct contact with grantee organizations and project implementers in the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Republic of Palau, Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. The Grants Officer is also responsible for evaluating and monitoring ongoing projects as well as managing grant agreements between MCT and donor organizations (including technical and financial reporting) together with the MCT Conservation Program Manager.

Specific Responsibilities (not complete – full TOR available upon request)
Assist with the preparations for and conducting of Calls for Proposals;
Prepare and monitor grantee subcontracts, including contract documents, budgets, workplans and reporting requirements;
Lead and serve as the primary contact for MCT program grants as assigned by the CPM;
Monitor the implementation of approved projects, including email and telephone communications and site visits;
Review, verification and filing of project/grantee progress reports, technical and financial;
Assist with the development of capacity-building workshop materials and delivery of workshops in project development and implementation;
Prepare reports and correspondences as necessary for grant award management as assigned by the CPM; and
Assist with fundraising, project development and grant-writing for Conservation Program advised sinking funds;
Assist with website content maintenance
Other duties, as required

Bachelor's Degree in conservation-related field or business administration preferred but AS with relevant knowledge and work experience acceptable;
Strong written and spoken English;
Ability to travel frequently;
Computer literacy, especially Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word and Microsoft Access;
1 to 3 years work experience with increasing levels of responsibility
detail oriented, reliable, prompt and hardworking
Strong team work skills

Salary and Benefits and Duty Station
MCT offers attractive and regionally competitive salaries and benefits depending upon qualifications. MCT does not provide relocation, housing or repatriation expenses. The duty station for this position is Pohnpei, Federated States of Micronesia.
