Kathryn Relang

Kathryn Relang currently serves as the RMI Country Focal Officer for the Pacific Community (SPC) Human Rights and Social Development Division supporting the government of the Marshall Islands on their human rights obligations. Formerly, she was the Executive Director of the RMI national women's non-government umbrella organization, Women United Together Marshall Islands (WUTMI), and before that the project director for ending violence against women and girls at WUTMI. She graduated from the University of Hawaii at Hilo with a bachelor's degree in both Anthropology and Linguistics with a teaching certificate to teach English as a second language. Kathy serves on several government Boards including being the Chairperson of the College of the Marshall Islands, Vice Chairperson of the Marshall Islands Social Security Administration, a member of the Board of Directors for the Marshall Islands Holding Inc., and the Bank of Marshall Islands. Kathryn is also a Board member of WUTMI and the Marshall Islands Conservation Society. In her spare time, she likes to play volleyball, coach volleyball to little children with the Majuro Minions organization, and go camping and picnics with families and friends. She has two adorable kids, Gia (11) and Luca (4), and has been Brad Soram’s wife and partner for 18 years.
