Practical Solutions for Reducing Community Vulnerability to Climate Change in the Federated States of Micronesia
The Practical Solutions for Reducing Community Vulnerability to Climate Change in the Federated States of Micronesia project focuses on enhancing ecosystem-based adaptation to increase the FSM communities' adaptive capacity and resilience to climate change through three Components. The first component focuses on a fully-functioning and institutionalized system for national and state government support for Protected Areas Network in the four FSM states and to advance state efforts on MPA and fisheries regulations enforcement and compliance. The second project component—implemented through MCT’s Small Grants Facility—aims to increase local adaptive capacity and resilience through strengthened ownership and financing of adaptation and climate risk reduction processes. The third component focuses on knowledge management which involves capturing project lessons learned and best practices of MPA management and ecosystem based adaptation to facilitate future project scale-ups and replication.
